Text: John 5:20
Topic: Submit to God’s Will
Bible in one year: Psalm 10-12
I can’t of my own self do nothing, as I hear, I judge and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the father which hath sent me (John 5:30). Several of Jesus’ teachings showed us how to appreciate and understand authority because we serve God who understands authority. Jesus appreciated authority and that’s why he was so touched by the centurions faith. You can never understand authority except you submit yourself to authority. Jesus loves people who recognize and walk in authority. Therefore, you must learn to recognise authority and desire to walk in it.
Jesus is the son of God and He could have done anything He wanted. However, he chose to do the will of the father and not his own will. The bible says ‘who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God; but made himself of no reputation, and took upon himself the form of a servant…. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted hi, and given him a name above every name. (Phil.2:6-9).
Prayer: Father help me to submit to your authority in Jesus name. Amen.
